NED NELSEN, son of Jens and Sina Petersen Nelsen, was born February 4,1883 at Linn Grove, Iowa. At the age of 17 he moved with his family to Murray County.

On November 9, 1904 he was united in marriage to Anna Hansina Busk. They farmed in Des Moines River township until 1943 when they moved into Westbrook. To this union were born 12 children, eleven of which are living. One daughter Betty Ann died at the age of four.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, May 1, 1973, one daughter, one grandchild, five great grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by four sons, Leslie and Lloyd, Westbrook, Donald, Pea Ridge, Ark., James, St. Paul, seven daughters, Amy (Mrs. Anton BENSON), Ethel (Mrs. August COHRS), Vera (Mrs. Reuben LARSON) all of Westbrook, Irene (Mrs. Russell STURGES) Currie, Vivian (Mrs. Albert SCHAUER) Windom, Ardys (Mrs. Aubrey DENNIS) Saltillo, Texas, Nina (Mrs. Bernard FRANZ) Crystal, 48 grandchildren, 104 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, and one brother, Victor, of Westbrook.
